On completion of this tutorial, you should be able to do the following. " Explain the term control action. " Explain proportional control action. " Explain integral control action. " Explain differential control action. " Explain 3 term or P.I.D. control action. " Discuss the Zeigler - Nichols methods of adjusting a 3T controller. " Explain the use of Lead and Lag Phase Compensation methods. If you are not familiar with instrumentation used in control engineering, you should complete the tutorials on Instrumentation Systems. In order to complete the theoretical part of this tutorial, you must be familiar with basic mechanical and electrical science.
