My boss also calls it the ‘Cinderella of Control’, because it is not well treated in colleges and universities, but when control engineers use PLCs in industry they wonder how they lived without them, because they are so important and so wide spread. We think that there are a lot of three term controllers in the world, but there are many times more PLCs!
