Know Your Oscilloscope
Paul C. Smith, 1958, 151 pages
A good description of how a 'scope works and how to use it. Includes some info on how to service and adjust the instrument. Also covers how to make measurements, and use of the 'scope for amplifier testing and radio/TV alignment.

Oscilloscope Techniques
Alfred Haas, 1958, 224 pages
Talks a little bit about how oscilloscopes work, but this is mostly a guide on how to make measurements with a 'scope. Practical examples of measurements made on audio, radio, and TV circuits. Even includes info on how to use a 'scope as a curve tracer for vacuum tubes and semiconductors, and to make swept measurements.

Troubleshooting with the Oscilloscope
Robert G. Middleton., 1962, 160 pages -
This book teaches you how to use an oscilloscope. It focuses on TV troubleshooting, but contains good basic info about how to use a 'scope, as well as some info on using it to work on audio and radio equipment.

Oscilloscope Probes
Probes are vital to oscillo-scope
measurements. To
understand how vital, discon-nect
the probes from an oscil-loscope
and try to make a
measurement. It can’t be
done. There has to be some
kind of electrical connection,
a probe of some sort between
the signal to be measured and
the oscilloscope’s input
channel.

Tutorial of Oscilloscope
Oscilloscope Tutorial, The oscilloscope is basically a graph-displaying device
It draws a graph of an electrical signal.
In most applications the graph shows how signals change over time:
the vertical (Y) axis represents voltage
the horizontal (X) axis represents time.

Oscillators and Harmonic Generators
10.1 OSCILLATOR FUNDAMENTALS
An oscillator is a circuit that converts energy from a power source (usually a dc power source) to ac energy. In order to produce a self-sustaining oscillation, there necessarily must be feedback from the output to the input, sufcient gain to overcome losses in the feedback path, and a resonator. There are number of ways to classify oscillator circuits, one of those being the distinction between one-port and two-port oscillators. The one-port oscillator has a load and resonator with a negative resistance at the same port, while the two-port oscillator is loaded in some way at the two ports. In either case there must be a feedback path, although, in the case of the one-port, this path might be internal to the device itself.
